Recently, Hunan Joysun New Energy Co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as "Joysun") Qi Ling Jiao 22.5MW/45MWh air-cooled energy storage power station is under construction. The project is located in Qi Ling Jiao, Guiping County, Chenzhou City, with a planned total installed capacity of 22.5MW/45MWh. It connected to the power grid with a 35KV line. The project is an new energy storage system with 1500V DC design scheme. It’s consisted of 9 sets of 2.5MW/ set of energy storage converter booster integrated machine and 9 sets of 5.08MWh/ set of energy storage battery prefabrication rooms. Production is scheduled to begin in 2024. After the project is put into operation, it can effectively solve the contradiction between the intermittent supply of local new energy and the continuous demand of users. It can realize the peak and frequency regulation of the power system, and smooth the demand of users. It also can improve the energy utilization rate, and help achieve the goal of "Double Carbon".
The construction of Joysun 22.5MW/45MWh air-cooled storage power station is a new energy storage system based on lithium iron phosphate battery technology. It provides the storage and release of wind and light power for local new energy power plants. The project makes up for the missing storage and release functions in the power system, and effectively alleviates the difficulty of electricity consumption during clean energy peak hours. After the new energy storage project is put into operation and connected to the grid, the annual power generation is expected to be 154.1936 million KWh. It is equivalent to saving 48,600 tons of standard coal per year and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 125,600 tons compared with thermal power with the same power generation. This project can change the scale of local power production, transmission and use in Guiping County. What’s more, it makes the real-time balanced rigid power system more flexible, especially in smoothing out the volatility brought by large-scale clean energy generation connected to the grid.
